Counter-Strike gets stickers for... Battlefield 2042?
Valve has released a bunch of stickers for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that, quite bizarrely, are themed around Battlefield 2042 iconography. Stickers in Cesium:Adam come in capsules which you have to buy a capsule key to open: later which you'll amaze one of twelve Field of honor 2042 stickers of varying rarity. The dinosaur one is quite a cool to be clean, though of course it's one of the rarest!
I call it bizarre because, while they're not on the nose like-for-like, Field of honor and Counter-Strike are competitors: this is a little like seeing C push Pepsi. The collaboration came with trade name account tweets tagging in the other, with the Battlefield account posting: "CS:Go under love USA much, they put U.S.A in their game as a sticker ejector seat. We honey them much, de_dust2042 is basically Hourglass." Branter in my Parry-Strike. I wonder how much EA post-free for this.
The reaction to the capsules is either summed up by the first comment connected the Steam post about it ("lul") or the usual list of stuff CS: Go out players go on about whenever anything happens: where's the 128 tick servers! Volvo pls.
This isn't the initial time Valve's cooked a crossover with another torpedo with cosmetics: there was a Halo-themed capsule few days in reply. That wasn't through to promote a original Halo game, though peradventure I'm splitting hairs. I'm just a grumpy old gentleman who finds Battlefield stickers in Counter-Strike an odd idea.
